Magic Formula Investing Weekly Roundup 3/17/2013

Magic Formula Investing (MFI), as described by hedge fund manager Joel Greenblatt in The Little Book that Beats the Market, consists of ranking stocks by earnings yield (cheap) and return on capital (quality), adding the rankings together, and buying from the resulting lists. Hi Steve, not listed in your weekly roundup but wondering if you've looked at EBIX (600K cap) that's showing up in the MFI list? Seems to have been extremely steady over several years. thanks - Steve

Yeah I'll do a write up on them this week. Looked at it briefly. Looks like a decent business but I've heard of questionable past behavior from the CEO, and the stock is 46% shorted which is an unbelievably high ratio!
